Your community accountant
Karen Kennedy
If I had to describe my role in one sentence it’d be: Chartered Accountant, marketer, business owner and counsellor all in one!
I love talking to good people doing good things in the community – hearing their stories and learning what’s happening in their lives and business. The best part about my job is knowing I can leave them feeling less anxious and more empowered by their business.
I do what I do for my boys. To be there for sports day. To make enough money to have a comfortable life. To serve my community. To support local businesses on their business journey. To empower business owners to make better business decisions.
It doesn’t get much better than that.
Andrew Sneddon
From balancing the books to keeping up with the latest tech trends in the industry, I’m all about simplifying the financial side of things.
I find fulfilment in supporting local businesses towards their goals. The industry shift towards digital software has been instrumental in streamlining tasks and reducing paperwork, ultimately making my job (and yours!) more efficient. But it’s not just about numbers and software for me. I’m all about the human touch too. I love that we work with bookkeeeping clients on a weekly basis, rather than seeing them once a year.
Outside of the office, you’ll often find me on the football field playing for my local team, Mallaig FC, unwinding and staying active. I am currently training to be an accountant through an apprenticeship with AAT.

I’m the one at Kennedy keeping things ticking along and keeping everyone in line!
I really wanted to get back into work after taking a break to be a stay at home mum, and I’m proud to be part of a local start-up business that works flexibly around my children. It helps that the Kennedy team are a friendly bunch who are good craic, even if we can get a bit competitive! It also helps that they agreed to Takeaway Tuesday…
In the office, I’m the go-to for anything admin related. I love the communication arm of my job, especially knowing I’ve helped a client feel better or achieve something. Outside the office, you’ll mostly find me with my wee ones, probably out with the horses!

Community is really important to me.
I love working with local entrepreneurs, understanding their businesses and, in turn, helping them understand what the numbers really mean. Contrary to sitting at a desk with my head in a computer, my work involves a lot of chit-chat between clients and team. I get to meet new people all the time, and I love that.
Outside of the office, I have a fair few skills and conversation starters up my sleeve. I can beatbox, have completed a flare cocktail course and have competed for Scotland in triathlons. I am currently training to be a Chartered Accountant through an apprenticeship with ICAS.
A little bit of direction goes a long way.
